Gender equality

In the previous lesson,Mr.YJ had dicussed the topic"Gender Equality" with us.We had dicussed the topic from different aspects such as linguistic and education, religion and upbringing, social and economic status and also life style and perspective. However, most of us are unfamiliar with the topic. We are unable to support our ideas with concrete examples. In order to have better understanding with the topic, i had do some research from the internet.

Finland is one of the nation that has successful in gender equality issues.Act on Equality between Women and Men (609/86) is introduced since 1987 .It promotes equality in education, teaching and research.Besides, there is an Employment and Equality Committee in Finnish Parliament. There are also Gender Equality Unit, Ombudsman for Equality and Council of Equality in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. These units are responsible for promoting equality between man and woman.

You can find more information about gender equality's policy in Finland through this link. http://www.gender-equality.webinfo.lt/results/finland.htm

Furthermore,i also found some useful articles in NYtimes. One is an interview with Hillary Clinton ;another is the involvement of women in job market.

Here are the links.

In wikipedia.org,there are even more article on the issue. However,i could not read them all as the articles are very long and somehow dull.
